World coffee exports rose by 9 per cent to a record 103.1 million bags in the 2010-11 coffee years, but shipments in September were down by almost 15 per cent at 7.04 million bags, the International Coffee Organisation (ICO) has said.
Coffee exports have been increased by 9.3% to 103.1 million bags. Historical record volume - compared to 94.3 million bags in coffee year 2009-10," the international body said.
Coffee exports declined by 14.6 per cent in September, 2011, to 7.04 million bags from 8.24 million in September, 2010.
On a month-on-month basis, shipments of the brew declined to 7.04 million bags in September this year from 7.21 million bags in August, 2011.
In the 2010-11 coffee year, Arabica exports stood at 66.6 million bags, as against 61.5 million bags in the year-ago period, while shipments of Robusta amounted to 36.6 million bags, compared to 32.7 million bags in the corresponding period of the previous year.
