Titanium is extremely biocompatible with human tissue and possesses outstanding acoustic and mechanical features. The Variable system allows surgeons to trim and adjust the length of the prosthesis intra-operatively. Secure integration of the single components is assured by a unique clamping design in the top plate, which also prevents conduction loss within the prosthesis.Because of the adjustable lengths, only one partial and one total prosthesis is needed in inventory. Spacing of 0.25-mm increments offers optimal length choices and flexibility. The EON - processed titanium is very malleable, allowing ease in shaping. The open head plate design facilitates excellent visibility at the time of introduction into the ear.
