These are pieces of corn, peeled and degerminated, usually called hominy grits, and according to their sieve analysis they are classified in:
a) Coarse: between 3500 and 7000 microns.
b) Medium: between 2500 and 3500 microns.
c) Fine: between 2000 and 2500 microns.
Grits for beer brewing:
After grinding the peeled pieces, we obtain grits that are used in the fermentation process in the production of beer.
Grits for "polenta":
This is a product obtained from the grinding of peeled and degerminated pieces. These grits are used to prepare homemade dishes all over the world. They can be classified through different sieve analysis according to the consumers needs. Our grits are of an excellent quality and they are fortified and/or enhanced with vitamins and minerals.
Grits for expansions:
After grinding the peeled and degerminated pieces, we obtain grits that are used in the production of snacks, through the usage of extrusion processes.
The most important features of these grits are their low fat content and the absence of bran particulates. The different products that can be obtained with these grits depend on the features of the extruder that will be used, as well as the type of snack that we want to achieve.
