The SMART-CL1 is a Rapid Chloride Ion Permeability Test (RCPT) apparatus as per ASTM C 1202-05 made by people who understand High Performance Concrete. Having conducted hundreds of tests on different concretes, the apparatus has been developed and fine-tuned over a period of 3 years and has been used extensively on prestigious demonstration projects of the HVFAC-project-India to assess the permeability of concrete.
Concretes incorporating fly ash or silica fume are less permeable to deleterious elements and thus are more durable than conventional concretes. The Rapid Chloride ion Permeability Test (RCPT) was designed to assess the resistance of concrete to the penetration of chloride ions, an indicator of its permeability.
The SMART-CL1 is a fully self-contained, complete kit as per ASTM C 1202-05 including the following items:
• Plexiglass chambers with conductive brass mesh, terminals and Steel bolts - 3 pairs.
• Constant voltage power supply with 3 channels.
• 250 mm vacuum dessicator.
• Vacuum pump
• Moisture trap
• Moulds for cylindrical specimens - 3 nos.
• Temperature probe
• Consumables - good for 1 doz. tests

o Acrylic sealer + brush
o NaCl
o NaOH
