Hothur is a leading iron ore producer and exporter in India. Our consistent quality has enabled us to curve a niche for ourselves in the international arena. Hothur was founded in 1963, at Sandur, Bellary District, in the south Indian state of Karnataka. This area is known to have one of the richest deposits of iron ore in the world, apart from near-legendary natural beauty. Sandur is pivotal to the development of mining, processing and export of iron ore in Karnataka.

High levels of automation and efficiency characterize our production of iron ore in Calibrated and Fine forms. Our production over the last year has exceeded 2,000,000 metric tons, with exports adding up to 1.5 million tons. Export destinations include China, Korea and Japan.

Manned by qualified, experienced personnel, our mines are equipped with the latest heavy earth-moving equipment and machinery to increase productivity. Our quality assurance has always met and exceeded customer expectations.

We are also committed to minimize environmental impact, keeping pollution levels law and protecting regional flora. As part of our afforestation program, we have already planted more than a million trees to prevent soil erosion.

So far dedicated to extracting and exporting iron ore, we have diversified in to production of valued added products like sponge iron and further plans for generation of power and manufacture of iron ore pellets and steel are on the anvil. We are also currently involved in developing new infrastructure to improve the export facilities or iron ore in Bellary and Hospet sector.
