The copper deposit is located very near a major mining port city of Chile. This implies that there is no difficulty in finding skilled labor and staff can sleep at home every day. Being a port city with easy access to water for industrial use, reduces the logistical cost of cartage of material.

Material samples taken at the scene indicate that the average grade of copper is 2.9%. The site is visible today, so they could do the calculation for the material to explode. It is estimated that the total copper recovered is 106,000 fine toneladas.
