Argei originates in Gergei, a small town in the heart of Sardinia where olive growing is both a passion and an art and where great olive oils have been produced since time began. The beautiful and unusual shape of the bottle brings to mind the Mallocria, a premium quality olive, typical of the countryside near Gergei. Local olive growers easily recognize when the perfect ripeness has been reached. Only then are the Mallocria olives picked, selected and strictly cold-pressed in order to produce (together with the more common Pitz’e Carroga olive), Argei, an unfiltered olive oil of extraordinary quality: yellow in colour with a greenish tinge whose agreeable fruity taste recalls the fresh fruit from which it originates. Respect for tradition and attention to upholding the highest quality make Argei one of the most prestigious extra virgin olive oils in Sardinia which, in its first year, won the best Sardinian oil award in the “fruttato intenso (intense fruity)” category. Try it on salads, bread, meat or fish: you will immediately recognize its unmistakable taste and unique aroma capable, like no other oil, to enhance the flavour of your dishes.
