CANNED PILCHARDS / SARDINES Primordium Holdings (Pty) Ltd is the nominated agent for the second largest canned sardines / pilchards brand of Southern Africa. Various reasons in the sardine / pilchard industry in Southern Africa, like environmental changes, quota cuts and diminishing stocks, are causing a shortfall of product for the local market and are forcing the industry to look at alternative means of meeting demand to service our market share. As dually appointed agents we are currently identifying possible suppliers to supplement the local produce. All produce will be subject to compliance with South African standards and requirements. Our immediate requirement is 50 x 40’ containers canned pilchards in tomato sauce, chilli and brine. We estimate that our total requirement for the 2008 calendar year will be approximately 600 000 cartons. Our preferred breakdown per container is as follows: 60% (425g x 24 cans per carton) 20% (215g x 48 cans per carton) 20% (155g x 50 cans per cartons) Please indicate your company’s position on stock availability and quote your best price for delivery as soon as possible.
