Zhanjiang Yueshui Fishery Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive private enterprise dealing in aquatic products covering oceanic fishing, aquatic breeding, purchasing, processing, marketing and technique training, also a leading enterprise in aquaculture. The company possesses a fishing fleet, an aquatic products freezing and processing plant, sea fry farms, prawn cultivation bases, tilapia cultivation bases and technique training bases. The fishing fleet owns 12 large steel ships for pelagic fishery with 600 horsepower each and 3 steel-cement pelagic fishing ships, equipped with modern communication and sailing-directing devices and freezing equipments. The ships operate in the South sea and pelagic waters. In 2004 6 glass-steel tuna fishing ships have been jointly built by the company and Guangzhou Pelagic Fishery Company to operate in Maldives of India ocean, Fiji of the South Pacific ocean and others. The fleet has a number of excellent talents with experience and techniques so as to provide security in Pelagic fishery. The aquatic products freezing and processing plant has been established in conformity with the FDA standard of exporting products of USA and standard of European countries with an investment of 3 million US Dollars and has achieved the HACCP certificate of FDA. The main products are prawn, sea fish, tilapia and shell with a daily processing capacity of over 80 metric tons and a cold storage of 2000 metric tons per day. The products are mainly exported to Japan, USA, Korea, Taiwan and other countries, the domestic market as assistant. The sea fry farms mainly produce rare ocean fish fry and prawn fry, equipped by a normalized plant, various breeding sections and other equipments with an annual breeding capacity of 20 million fish fry and 150 million prawn fry. The tilapia cultivation bases (some are in the course of establishment) covering an area of 5000mu ( 333 ha.) for GIFT tilapia with an annual cultivation capacity of over 3000 metric tons and a team of 120 employees. The prawn cultivation bases, with an area of 500mu(33.3 ha), are supported with techniques by Guangdong Ocean University, the South sea aquatic research department and other organizations. We aim at cultivating “Non-hazard prawn” and supplying the market with high quality products. The technique training bases are jointly established with Zhanjiang No.2 Technical School.
