BONVIN more than just a Name The firm of Bonvin, which translated into English means "good wine", was established 1858 and is regarded today as a guarantee of outstanding swiss wine. This is due on the one hand to the ideal position of the vineyards, an on the other hand to the firm's internal criteria of quality which are much higher than the legal minimum standards. So the name of "Bonvin" on every bottle is no mere idle boast ! Quality begins in the vineyard "Domaine Brûlefer" and "Domaine Clos du Château" vineyards are superbly situated on south-facing terraces between 550 and 700 meters above sea level in the Rhône valley over the cantonal capital of Sion. The exemplary condition of the vineyard ensure a vintage of high quality. The soil, which contains slate and chalk, never fails to endow the wine with its remarkable, full-bodied flavour and distinctive, spirited character.
